Valentines at Ruby Grace's...

Valentine's Day sprung up yesterday at Ruby Grace's. Our second booth got transformed into a red and pink Cupid Fest! It was rainy and gloomy outside, but bright and festive inside. My eyes are always bigger than our booths, so of course, the awesome baby bed ends had to come back home....as well as some pictures and other assorted treasures. It was a fun spending the day with Mom and getting everything to look PERFECT! It is also fun to stop and chat with other dealers and to the customers. I love to see the ladies stop to reminisce about prom dresses and perfume bottles. Antique Malls are such great places to spend with friends and share recollections of childhood and teen years. I almost always see something that reminds me of my grandparents or parents. Felicia at Bountiful brought in a couch and it got Mom and me reminiscing about the gold couch and red velvet chair we had in our living room when I was young...they were awesome! I LOVE to hear the squeals or ahhhs of people finding the Easy Bake Oven they had as a child...or in my case the Johnny West Doll. A wonderful lunch in the Tea Room and hours of memories and fun....sounds like the perfect day to me!

  1. Just FYI, on your profile (which also shows up the main page) the first time you say Haltom City, it's spelled Halton City. Just thought you'd want to know.

Denis, you have the greatest collection of Prom dresses. Here's a challenge for ya....'The RedNet Homecoming Dress from the 1960's. I posted about it last year and the picture is here:http://collectintexasgal.blogspot.com/2009/09/homecoming-1963rednetdress-memories.html. Find it and I'll Buy It again! How fun would that be...and it's Valentine Color for your booth...but with a sold sign! Great pictures as always!

  6. Ok Denis, can you tell me what is your agenda? I figure it out. You bring the goods and then you post it in the blog and then Marta will be driving 2.5 hours just to see it all. Got it, I'm coming soon and I'm bringing the troops with me, no breakfast in the morning and by the time we make it to Lonestar Tea Room we devour everything in site. The plan is perfect, then we shop for 4 hours and burn all the extra calories. Got it. Sounds good to me. Blessings, Marta.
