Okay...wish us luck. Tracy and I take off Saturday on a flight to Denver. We then drive about 60 miles to Estes Park where we will check into The Stanley Hotel....yes THE STANLEY HOTEL! A friend of mine is getting married there. As you guys might know...The Stanley is the haunted hotel where Stephen King stayed and was inspired to start writing The Shining. When I called the hotel to make our reservations, I asked if any of the haunted rooms were available. She told me that you had to book those way in advance. As she was inputting on the computer she said, "Oh, the Stephen King Suite is available on your last night if you are willing to change rooms". To which I quickly shouted, "BOOK IT". Room #217 is where Stephen King wrote the first several chapters of his book....YIKES! Then last Wednesday night while flipping channels, Tracy and I came across the Ghost Hunters Academy where they were advertising their next show at The Stanley Hotel. We watched it last night and are now more scared than ever! They had spirits turning on their flashlights, making noises, opening closet doors, lifting tables and all kinds of stuff. We have decided to sleep fully clothed just in case we have to make a run for it in the middle of the night. I can't wait....it is going to be SO MUCH FUN! We are also taking the hotel ghost tour one night. We do have a great drive to Estes Park planned from Denver and have googled every flea market and antique shop on the way. So assuming we make it back, I will hopefully have some pictures to post. Wish us LUCK!
